We rounded off 2018 with a fun Christmas themed treat. The room looked lovely and cosy with a beautiful Christmas tree surrounded by presents.
Sainsburys, Nether Edge, Sheffield have been kindly donating treats all year and on this occasion it was extra special with treats including chocolates, prosecco and Christmas crackers. They have been so generous to us and we are very grateful to them.
We had a new member this month, Heather, who everyone was pleased to meet and welcome to the club. Not the best club to join but if you have incurable cancer the support from each other is definitely a bonus!
Once refreshed we welcomed Helena Turner, a qualified yoga instructor, who had kindly come along to our treat to do a chair yoga session. This went down very well and everyone was able to have a go.
The drinks were flowing and then lunch arrived. As usual this was prepared by St Lukes, Clifford House and was delicious. Homemade soup, sandwiches and cakes…yum
Everyone relaxed and caught up on each others news. Getting together means a lot and helps us to cope with the things we are going through. Unfortunately there were a few members who were in hospital or too ill and couldn’t make it and our thoughts are with them. Hopefully they will make the January treat. Fingers crossed.
Our time at Clifford House was soon over so everyone who felt up to it went down the road to the Rising Sun pub to carry on with the festivities.
Goody bags were given out to members and also Claire posted them out to the ones who couldn’t make it. All of the contents of the goody bags were kind donations including a selection from Lush, Meadowhall.
We have had an eventful year with a great variety of treats. We are always happy to welcome new members so please get in touch if you would like to come along. You will be made very welcome.
Special thanks go to Claire for her hard work during the year organising the treat club and giving us all something to look forward to each month. Here’s to another year of fun…
